Highway Office 13 (Bangkok) was established in 1936 under the name Bangkok Highway District. In 1991, the Department of Highways restructured its administration and operations according to the Ministry, Department, and Agency Reorganization Act of 1991, and its name was changed from "Bangkok Highway District" to "Highway Office 11 (Bangkok)". It was then upgraded to a bureau, named "Highway Bureau 11 (Bangkok)", and currently it is known as "Highway Office 13 (Bangkok)". Its location is at 40/2 Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Sanam Bin Subdistrict, Don Mueang District, Bangkok.
Highway Office 13 (Bangkok) is one of 18 highway offices under the Department of Highways. It is a central government administrative unit with regional offices, directly under the Department of Highways, Ministry of Transport. It is headed by a Director of the Highway Bureau and assisted by two Deputy Directors. Its duties include supervising, monitoring, and maintaining highways in Bangkok and surrounding areas. Divided into 8 highway districts based on area of responsibility.
